Day 2 : Marrakech – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges
Departure from Marrakech towards southern Morocco through the spectacular landscapes of the High Atlas, crossing the famous Tizi N'Tichka pass (2260 m). On the way, stop at the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the setting for many Hollywood films (optional guided tour available). Continue to Ouarzazate, nicknamed the Gateway to the Desert. After a free lunch, drive to the Dadès Gorges, with its impressive landscapes marked by the famous "monkey fingers". Check into a traditional Berber inn, dinner and overnight stay in the heart of the gorges.
Day 3 : Dades Gorges – Todra Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast, head to the majestic Todra Valley. Its gorges, ochre rock cliffs sometimes reaching 300 meters, offer a magnificent setting for a walk. Next, cross the vast palm grove of Tinghir, a veritable haven of greenery dotted with kasbahs and Berber villages. You can meet the locals to discover their way of life and local crafts. Lunch is on your own en route.
In the afternoon, continue to Merzouga and its desert of golden dunes that can reach 150 meters in height. At sunset, depart on camelback (or by 4x4, if preferred) to reach your nomadic camp. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and a night of entertainment enlivened by nomadic music under a starry sky. Overnight in a Berber tent.
Day 4 : Merzouga – Marrakech
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, an unforgettable moment. Return to the bivouac for breakfast and then depart towards Marrakech through desert and hilly landscapes.
