Tour Plan
Day 1 : Marrakech to the High Atlas-Imlil
Today you'll head to the High Atlas Mountains. You'll take a beautiful drive to Imlil. Berber villages are hidden in the lush valleys of the surrounding mountain range. Nestled among terraced farms, these villages and the panoramic views of the high peaks provide the backdrop for your hikes. From Imlil, you'll hike a short, scenic stretch through the mountains to the Aremd lodge (mountain refuge) (1950 m). You won't need a sleeping bag.
Day 2 : Aremd (1950 m) – Chamharouch (2310 m).
Today, you'll spend a day hiking in Toubkal National Park, the highest peak in North Africa, reaching 4,167 meters. After breakfast, you'll hike to Toubkal in the morning, heading to Chamharouch (2,310 m). Chamharouch is home to a marabout (venerable leader of a religious brotherhood). People come to him to grant wishes, such as healing from illness or conceiving a child.
Berber villages are hidden in the mountains. Along with the verdant valleys and snow-capped peaks (depending on the season), they form a magnificent backdrop for your hike. You'll spend the night in the same lodge.
